Self-Feedback is an opportunity for an employee to impress their managers by letting them know what kind of person he/she had been at work and the level of contribution made. But it consumes a lot of time as the employees are unable to decide easily on how to start and proceed. In this blog, we have given examples for beginners in different departments. Sales  

Strengths  

When I was hired, I was told that for new hires, achieving monthly targets is a herculean and also an impossible task in the first year. But I proved the saying to be false by exceeding the expectations and achieving 120% of the target in my second month. In this one year since I have joined, I was able to prove that I am a valuable asset to the organization by bringing in more modern techniques like reaching out to customers on social media channels too, apart from emails and achieving results following the same.   

The satisfaction rate of my customers is 100% as per the analysis done by the support team. My responsiveness and attention to the customers throughout the sales process are the sole reasons behind my highest closing rate (80%).   

Areas for Improvement 

Though I have achieved more than my target, I had a hard time remembering tasks/ managing time. To overcome the challenge, I have begun making notes and check from time and time if the tasks have been completed/ I have started planning my calls and emails and trying to follow the schedule to connect with every prospect at the earliest possible. I have improved a lot, but there is still halfway to go, and I am doing my best.  

Marketing  

Strengths  

When I joined this company, the marketing team could not generate qualified leads in the US market. Combining my knowledge and years of experience, I created a strategy that involved paid ads and organic posts on social media handles to increase brand awareness and nurture prospects in the US. Even during the pandemic, I did not let the morale of the team members go down and kept them engaged by conducting regular meetings to take their inputs and formulating a working method out of the ideas.   

We have conducted 4 webinars so far, and I was the host for those events. Apart from that, our marketing experiments have increased the engagement rate on our posts by 10% I Have always been more committed to work and try to innovate all the time.     

Areas to Improve 

My area of improvement is that I should focus more on providing developmental feedback to my team members. Besides, I should also appreciate them more often to motivate them. For the past year, I noticed that all my feedback to the team members has been vague and not really helped them. I am reading blogs on how to master feedback delivery, and soon I will overcome this challenge.   

In the past year, I had been a bit indecisive because of all the uncertainties. Those immediate actions, which include the shifting of the entire workforce from office to home and employee safety while monitoring performance and productivity, had been a herculean task. That is when I learned that I need to be quick in making decisions and taking action. I realized that I should understand the situation earlier and take precautionary measures as soon as possible to protect my team as well as maintain productivity.   

Product Development and Engineering   

Strengths  

I joined as a trainee in this company, and within two years, I have attained the executive level because of my ability to write clean codes. I am an approachable person, whom the team members consult with, whenever they have doubts, and I have volunteered to teach the trainees and interns how to write non-defective codes and other best practices related to product development. There is not even a single time where I have missed the deadline; Also, the work quality has never been compromised. 

Efforts to Improve  

I am able to analyze myself and come up with my positives and also negatives. Sometimes, my self-analysis is a bit faulty, and it makes me develop a defensive attitude when someone points out my mistake, which I have missed. I am reading books to develop a receptive attitude to feedback and practicing the same. Nowadays, when someone tries to tell me what’s wrong, I listen to them, analyze their points, take the good from it, and rectify my mistakes.  

Human Resources  

Strengths  

My first year as Human resources had me thinking, “Is recruiting the only job of HR?” But then I realized that it is a big no as I listened to HR podcasts. Since then, my approach to Human resources management has changed. I formulated effective strategies that decreased the employee turnover rate by 25% in the past fiscal year, and the onboardings happen quickly with some really talented guys joining the team. The engagement activities to keep the employees motivated even while working remotely have increased by 60%, and the engagement rate has gone up by 5%.  

I am able to single-handedly manage the human resources and also boost their morale to keep the organization’s overall productivity unaffected.  

Areas to Improve  

As I am busy with implementing strategies to increase employee engagement and employee morale, I realized that I have spent lesser time addressing the work-related grievances of every individual, not as a whole. I have added that to my list of priorities and trying to allocate time for the process, which shouldn’t be done for the namesake, but with concern and for actual actionable insights. 

Customer Support  

Strengths  

I am a customer support representative, who ensures to resolve the issues of the customers in the first 24 hours, which makes me one of the best customer support agents in the company. I received an award as one of the best because my customer satisfaction rate is around 96%. Two customers, in the month of March, have asked for me in particular to resolve their issue. I do not simply resolve issues; I build mutual trust-based relationships with the customer. Due to the enhanced customer experience, the customer retention rate so far has been 100% for me. My responsiveness and decisiveness are the reasons behind my success rate.  

Areas for Improvement  

Whenever I speak to my customers, the one thing I lack is data. I do not have enough reports to support my statements. The customers do not complain, but I feel like my speech is a little bit vague with less value. And so, I am now collaborating with other teams to gather data on products and the implementation issues to resolve the pain points of customers and give out more valuable information so that they do not confront the same issues again. 

Goals  

I have already exceeded the expectations of my manager, and also, I am working on my areas of improvement. I have set a target date to resolve my time management/ memory issues by finding alternative solutions and implementing them in my everyday life. Therefore, in the next year/quarter, I expect to achieve 130% of target achievement and 85% of the closing rate.   

My effort to improve myself each day and reflect the same in the work makes me the right fit for the senior position in the sales team. I have also shown exceptional results at work, which a new hire has never done before / which only high-performing employees do. I am also aiming to be in a managerial position in another few years, which is also one of my career goals.
